Features:
- Input status indicators Digital Input Module
- 16 channels for 48 V d.c. inputs with current sinking
- 2 isolated groups of 8 with voltage supervision
This module features 16 digital inputs. The input signal voltage range is 36 to 60 V DC, and the input current is 4 mA at 48 V. The inputs are divided into two independently isolated groups, each containing eight channels and one voltage monitoring input. Each input channel includes a current limiting element, EMC protection elements, an input status indicator LED, and an optical isolation barrier. If voltage is lost, the process voltage monitoring input will issue a channel error signal. This error signal can be read via the module bus.
This module typically provides multiple digital input channels, allowing simultaneous monitoring of multiple field devices from a single module. It also integrates status indicators and diagnostic functions to help engineers identify signal states, line conditions, and potential input faults. These features improve system reliability and simplify maintenance of large industrial facilities such as power plants, chemical plants, and manufacturing systems.
The DI811 3BSE008552R1 ABB Digital Input Module may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The DI811 3BSE008552R1 detects the presence or absence of these voltage signals and converts them into digital logic states. These digital signals are then transmitted to the central controller via the S800 I/O system bus, where they are processed by the control program. Through this mechanism, the module enables the automation system to monitor field conditions in real time and execute corresponding control operations.
High-voltage signal monitoring: Suitable for 48V DC systems, providing a reliable interface for signal acquisition in high-power industrial environments.
Process automation: Commonly used in ABB Ability System 800xA and Advant OCS for acquiring binary data from field devices such as proximity switches and contact sensors.
Group isolation applications: Suitable for applications requiring isolated input groups to protect the controller from electrical faults or noise interference from different field sections.
Installation Method: Must be installed on a Module Terminal Unit (MTU) for field wiring.
Compatible MTUs: TU810, TU812, TU814, TU818, TU830, TU833, TU838, and TU850.
Keying Code: Uses mechanical keying code BD to ensure only the correct MTU model is inserted.
