Features:
- Extended Module Termination Unit
- Up to 16 channels of field signals and process power connections
- Complete installation of I/O modules using 3-wire connections, fuses and field power distribution
The TU830V1 MTU supports up to 16 I/O channels and two process voltage connections. Each channel has two I/O connections and one zero-point (ZP) connection. The MTU is a passive unit used to connect field wiring to the I/O modules. It also contains a portion of the module bus.
The process voltages can be connected to two independent, isolated groups. Each group is equipped with a 6.3 A fuse. The maximum rated voltage for each channel is 50 V, and the maximum rated current is 2 A. The MTU distributes the module bus from the I/O module to the next MTU. It also generates the correct I/O module address by shifting the output position signal to the next MTU.
The TU830V1 3BSE013234R1 ABB Extended Module Termination Unit may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The TU830V1 (3BSE013234R1) is a trusted triple modular redundancy (TMR) processor module for safety-critical industrial control systems (ICS) in tripartite environments. Its operation is based on triple modular redundancy, with three independent processor channels simultaneously executing the same control logic. Each channel continuously compares its output with the outputs of the other two channels through a 2/3 voting mechanism, ensuring that even if one channel fails, the system continues to operate normally without interruption.
This module is a standard component for automation applications in harsh or mission-critical industrial environments:
Power Generation and Utilities: Used in turbine control systems and plant monitoring to track vibration limits, oil pressure, and circuit breaker status.
Oil, Gas, and Petrochemicals: Manages field signals from pressure sensors, limit switches, and valves in refineries and extraction units.
Water and Wastewater Treatment: Automates pumping stations and filtration systems by connecting float switches, flow meters, and level sensors.
Manufacturing and Processing Industries: Used for high-density signal processing in industries such as metallurgy, chemicals, papermaking, and automotive manufacturing.
