The OTAC-01 Pulse Encoder Interface module is an interface for connecting a digital pulse encoder to an ACS550 drive. A pulse encoder should be used if accurate speed or position (angle) feedback from the motor shaft is required. OTAC-01 does not provide a power supply. These terminals are used for daisy chaining between the power supply and the encoder.
In application, the ABB OTAC-01 supports structured data exchange and facilitates advanced drive configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting processes. The working principle of the ABB OTAC-01 is based on protocol adaptation and signal interfacing within the drive’s internal control architecture. The module connects to the drive’s communication bus and translates internal control signals into externally accessible data formats.
