Features:
- 64607901 CONTROL UNIT ABB Drives
- High-performance Drive Control Unit primarily used for the ABB ACS800 series of industrial AC drives
- It receives user commands and converts them into signals to adjust the speed, torque, and direction of the motor
The RDCU-02C is a dedicated drive control unit designed to manage and coordinate the operation of industrial drive systems in harsh automated environments. It provides centralized control logic execution for power conversion and motor control processes, ensuring precise regulation of speed, torque, and operating sequence.
In addition to its core control functions, the RDCU-02C supports advanced communication and system coordination capabilities, enabling seamless interaction with higher-level control platforms such as PLCs and distributed control systems. It also integrates diagnostic and monitoring functions, providing real-time system status information for predictive maintenance and rapid fault identification.
The RDCU-02C ABB Drive Control Unit may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The RDCU-02C operates based on real-time processing of control signals and feedback data from the drive system. It continuously receives operating parameters such as motor speed, current, and voltage, processes them through embedded control algorithms, and generates precise control commands for the power stage. This closed-loop control mechanism ensures dynamic adjustment, stable system performance, and precise drive operation under varying load and environmental conditions.
HVAC Systems: Regulates variable speed drives in large ventilation, fan, and air conditioning systems to optimize energy consumption.
Water Treatment: Manages the drives of pumps and distribution systems, ensuring precise flow control and pressure monitoring.
Oil, Gas, and Petrochemicals: Controls complex processes such as refining and distribution, where reliability and corrosion resistance (through their conformal coatings) are critical.
Power Generation: Used for the management of energy systems and auxiliary equipment, where real-time diagnostics are essential.
Heavy Machinery: Integrates into high-demand equipment such as cranes, winches, ski lifts, grinders, and mixers.
