The CPU continuously executes a cyclic process of "read input—execute user program—refresh output": First, it reads field signals from the input module and stores them in the process image area; then, it performs logical operations and data processing according to the user-written control program; finally, it writes the results to the output module to drive field devices. This cycle is repeated at high speed, thus achieving real-time continuous control of industrial processes.
- Discrete Manufacturing: Used on production lines, allowing direct monitoring of up to 16 digital inputs (sensors, switches) and control of 16 digital outputs (actuators, relays) via the CPU.
- High-Speed Counting: Integrates three high-speed counters (30 kHz), suitable for applications such as pulse counting, position detection, and frequency measurement.
- Distributed I/O Control: Integrates a PROFIBUS DP interface, serving as a master or slave station in a fieldbus network for managing remote I/O stations or communicating with other PLCs and drives.
- Space-Constrained Panels: As a "compact" CPU, it integrates power supply, CPU, and I/O into a single module, reducing the overall footprint of the control cabinet.
