- TB810 Modulebus Optical Port 800xA S800 I/O Communication Modules
- Used together with CI810, CI820, CI830,with ABB Drives equipment
- Control Systems with S800 I/O and ABB Drives (10 Mbits driver)
As part of the system module bus infrastructure, the TB810 3BSE008560R1 provides a high-integrity link between remote I/O clusters and communication interface modules, facilitating deterministic data transmission in control networks. The TB810 3BSE008560R1 utilizes fiber optic connections, ensuring stable communication even in environments with electromagnetic interference, electrical noise, or long-distance transmission.
The TB810 3BSE008560R1 supports fiber optic module bus links, enabling flexible system topologies. This allows engineers to deploy remote I/O modules away from the central control system without sacrificing communication performance. This design approach improves system reliability, reduces the impact of electromagnetic interference, and supports efficient integration into advanced distributed control environments.
The TB810 3BSE008560R1 ABB Modulebus Optical Port may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The ABB TB810 3BSE008560R1 uses the Modulebus communication framework for optical signal transmission. This module converts electrical signals generated by the control interface into optical signals transmitted via optical fiber. These optical signals are then received by the corresponding interface devices and converted back into electrical signals for processing by the controller or I/O modules.
1. Remote I/O Expansion: The TB810 allows you to distribute I/O clusters within a factory (up to 2 km). This is ideal for large factories where sensors and actuators are located far from a central control room.
2. Electromagnetic Interference Immunity: The TB810 uses fiber optic transmission, making it suitable for environments with high electromagnetic interference (EMI) or electrical noise, such as near large motors or power converters.
3. Expanded I/O Stations: A single I/O station bus can only connect a maximum of 12 modules. With the TB810, you can connect up to 7 additional I/O clusters via a fiber optic module bus.
4. Drive System Integration: The TB810 is typically used to directly connect ABB S800 I/O modules to ABB drives that support 10 Mbit/s optical drives.
