Features:
- Standard ControlLogix Series Industrial Controller
- It is equipped with a USB port and an embedded Ethernet port
- The 1756-L81E standard controller supports Ethernet communication speeds of 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps, and 1000 Mbps
The Allen-Bradley 1756-L81E standard controller communicates via Ethernet at speeds of 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps, and 1000 Mbps. In addition to Ethernet, the 1756-L81E standard controller can also communicate via DeviceNet, ControlNet, Data Highway Plus, Synchlink, and remote I/O networks, as well as various third-party networks. This controller has 3 MB of user memory and can be installed in any available slot in the system chassis.
ControlLogix's latest and most advanced product family. It is a programmable automation controller (PAC) with modern connectivity and functionality, serving as a migration platform for legacy controllers such as the PLC5 and SLC500, and meeting the demands of demanding industrial applications.
The 1756-L81E Allen Bradley Controller module may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The 1756-L81E is the entry-level product in the 1756-L8 series of controllers, equipped with only 3 MB of user memory and 2 GB of non-volatile memory (implemented via a 1784-SD2 Secure Digital (SD) card). This controller can handle up to 128,000 discrete input/output signals and 4,000 analog input/output signals. Furthermore, it employs an environmentally friendly energy storage solution that provides backup for the controller's RAM without the need for batteries.
This controller is designed for demanding industrial environments requiring high-speed data throughput and precise motion control:
High-Speed Motion Control: Supports integrated motion control of up to 256 axes via EtherNet/IP, making it ideal for packaging lines, robots, and complex assembly systems.
Discrete Manufacturing: Suitable for high-speed assembly and material handling in smart factories, where rapid I/O processing (up to 128,000 digital points) is critical.
Process Automation: Utilizes the PlantPAx process library for chemical, pharmaceutical, and food ingredient systems.
Safety-Critical Systems: Can be used for SIL 2/PLd safety applications or in conjunction with safety partners to meet SIL 3 requirements.
Modernization Platform: Can serve as an upgrade path for legacy PLC-5 and SLC 500 systems, enabling older plants to upgrade to modern gigabit connectivity.
