8623-FT-IS is an Emerson PAC8000 intrinsically safe field terminal designed for the 8220-DI-IS 16-channel discrete input module. It provides the field-wiring termination between intrinsically safe switch or proximity-detector circuits and the compatible PAC8000 input module. The complete terminal identity, mating module, keying, connector condition and hazardous-area wiring documentation must be matched before replacement.
Before replacement, record the complete terminal marking, mating I/O module, polarised keying, channel wiring, shields, grounding and approved intrinsic-safety documentation. After installation, verify diagnostics and every affected channel under the approved loop-test and commissioning procedure.

8623-FT-IS provides the documented 16-channel discrete input field termination for the compatible 8220-DI-IS PAC8000 I/O module. Match the exact terminal, mating module, channel allocation and polarised inserts; another 862x terminal is not automatically interchangeable.
Use only within an approved intrinsically safe installation. Verify entity parameters, segregation, conductor identification, shielding, grounding and the 30 V maximum terminal limitation against the current hazardous-area drawings before energizing any loop.
Install 8623-FT-IS only with the documented PAC8000 carrier, 8220-DI-IS I/O module and retained field-loop design. After connection, review module diagnostics and prove every affected channel under an approved controlled commissioning procedure.
