Features:
- Four fiber-optic transmitter/receiver channel pairs provide the documented CH0, CH1, CH2, and CH3 DDCS interfaces.
- The coated RDCO-02C execution uses 5 MBd optical components on CH0/CH1 and 10 MBd components on CH2/CH3, independently of the selected data rate.
- A 20-pin drive connector and two grounding screws support installation in the control-unit position marked DDCS.
The ABB RDCO-02C 3ABD64606956 is a coated DDCS communication option for compatible RMIO Motor Control and I/O boards, RDCU control units, and BCU control units. The application program determines the final duty of each optical channel. ABB describes typical use of CH0 for an overriding system, CH1 for I/O options and the supply unit, CH2 for a Master/Follower link, and CH3 for an ACS800 PC tool. Optical component types must match at both ends of every fiber link. POF can be used with both component types, while the 10 MBd components also permit HCS fiber. Installation must follow ABB isolation, discharge, grounding, ESD, bend-radius, routing, and clean-connector precautions.

CH0 normally serves an overriding system, CH1 serves I/O options and the supply unit, CH2 supports a Master/Follower link, and CH3 serves an ACS800 PC tool. The drive application program determines the final channel assignments.
Match the optical component at both ends of each link. RDCO-02C uses 5 MBd components on CH0/CH1 and 10 MBd components on CH2/CH3; POF works with both types, while HCS is supported by the 10 MBd channels.
Install the module only after isolating the drive and confirming discharge. Seat it in the DDCS position, fasten both screws for grounding and EMC performance, route fibers without kinks or sharp-edge contact, and connect transmitters to receivers according to color coding.
