Features:
- Interface / Measuring Card Module
- Commonly used in ABB UNITROL excitation systems, Advant controllers, or MOD 300 DCS distributed control systems
- It enables precise linear regulation of process, motor, or generator excitation in harsh industrial environments
As a core peripheral expansion component of a large-scale distributed control system (DCS) or main control unit, this module is designed to establish an efficient connection between the controller (CPU) and various underlying industrial field devices, servo drives, and actuators. The module employs highly reliable industrial-grade electronic components, possessing strong anti-interference capabilities and excellent environmental adaptability.
In terms of core functionality, this interface board primarily serves as a bridge for data relay, signal conditioning, and communication conversion. It can synchronously acquire various low-level analog and digital signals from field sensors, encoders, or switches at high speed, and precisely filter, amplify, and electrically isolate them to prevent industrial noise from contaminating the core control bus.
The HIEE300725R0001 UAC317 AE ABB Interface measurement card may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The HIEE300725R0001 UAC317 AE module operates based on microprocessor-controlled signal-to-digital conversion and a distributed bus communication network. During operation, its integrated dedicated microcontroller chip and high-precision signal conditioning circuitry sample the current, voltage, or digital pulses at the physical interface input in real time.
The acquired continuous physical signals are converted into high-precision digital signals by an onboard analog-to-digital converter (A/D converter), and then uploaded to the upper-level main DCS control system or PLC master station with extremely low latency via the internal backplane bus or industrial Ethernet protocol.
Upon receiving negative feedback regulation data from the main controller, its internal circuitry applies control quantities to the servo driver or regulating valve in real time through a reverse control mechanism (including digital-to-analog conversion or opto-isolated output drive), thereby achieving closed-loop, high-speed, low-error cyclic transmission between physical signals, digital signals, and communication information throughout the industrial process control process.
The ABB HIEE300725R0001 (UAC317 AE) interface card is widely used in demanding industrial applications for processing signal measurements, status data, and executing motor commands. It is primarily integrated into ABB Advant controllers and traditional distributed control systems (DCS).
