Core Industrial Applications
Features:
- Connect remote terminal panel and I/O module
- Connector cable that has been designed in the PLC 5 product line
- The 1771-NC6 connector cable is 6 feet long and it weighs 0.6 pounds
The Allen-Bradley 1771-NC6 is a cable for connecting Remote Terminal Units (RTPs) and Allen-Bradley 1771-N Series analog modules. Allen-Bradley 1771-N modules are compatible with Allen-Bradley PLC-3, PLC-5, and Allen-Bradley PLC-5/250 programmable controllers, provided the module and controller are connected via a cable similar to the 1771-NC6. The 1771-N modules are designed for applications requiring high resolution and good noise immunity.
The 1771-N Series modules are designed for use with Remote Terminal Units (RTPs) and come with the 1771-NC6 cable. Input/output lines terminate at RTP field connectors, and pre-fabricated cables (such as the 1771-NC6) connect the RTP to the 1771-N I/O module for operation. The 1771-NC6 is a 6-foot (1.8-meter) cable used to connect the RTP and the 1771-N I/O module, enabling the construction of larger, more efficient mechanical systems. Each 1771-NC6 cable has 25-pin connectors at both ends. The 1771-N module is available in 4-channel or 8-channel configurations.
The 1771-NC6 Allen Bradley Connection Cable may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Rockwell Automation officially ceased production of the 1771-NC6 cable on March 31, 2021. Because the entire PLC-5 ecosystem uses legacy hardware, factories seeking modernization typically use the Allen-Bradley 1492 conversion system: migration can be completed without rewiring. A dedicated conversion cable (such as the 1492-CONACAB series) connects directly to the existing 1771 remote terminal panel at one end and plugs into the modern 1756 ControlLogix I/O module removable terminal block (RTB) at the other. This allows for PLC processor upgrades without disconnecting any field wiring.
Thermal Process Monitoring: Connects high-resolution thermocouples and RTD modules to a remote control panel for monitoring the operation of large industrial blast furnaces, kilns, and glass melting furnaces, ensuring precise temperature control.
Chemical Tank Level and Pressure Tracking: Connects to 4-20mA loops and millivolt pressure transmitters on large chemical tanks, ensuring clear and attenuated data transmission.
Turbine and Compressor Diagnostics: Tracks high-speed analog vibration and strain gauge telemetry data from heavy-duty rotating machinery, particularly suitable for applications with significant motor interference.
