If you are replacing spare parts for this model, please pay special attention to recent product line updates from Rockwell Automation (A-Series/B-Series hardware differences):
Major Hardware Upgrades for the B-Series: In recent years, Rockwell Automation has made significant upgrades to the hardware architecture of the PanelView Plus 7 Performance (B-Series hardware versions have been released and are usually indicated on the side nameplate).
Technical Changes for the B-Series: The B-Series operating system has been fully unified to Windows 10 IoT Core, and the internal system storage chips (flash memory and RAM) have been upgraded.
Firmware and Software Compatibility: If you purchased the latest B-Series hardware, the minimum required software version is typically FactoryTalk View ME V12 or higher (older .mer executables cannot be directly downloaded to B-Series hardware; you will need to use the Application Manager to upgrade the firmware and software version or recompile).
As a high-performance terminal, it boasts numerous privileges not available in the standard version: Built-in DLR dual-port ring network technology:
Without an additional switch, this HMI can directly connect to the factory's full device-level ring network (DLR) security ring network. Even if the right-side network cable breaks unexpectedly, the signal will automatically return from the left, ensuring uninterrupted screen control.
Deep integration with FactoryTalk View ME: Fully supports runtime direct access to extended tag attributes and alarm interlocks (FactoryTalk alarms and events) of the underlying Logix controller (such as ControlLogix 5580), significantly reducing the workload of manually copying variables.
Remote secure access (VNC and Web server): A built-in VNC server allows authorized factory managers or maintenance engineers to remotely view and control the HMI's live screen via mobile phone, iPad, or office computer, making it ideal for remote troubleshooting.
