Features:
- Intel Celeron 266 Performance with additional I/O processor
- Ethernet, POWERLINK and USB onboard
- CompactFlash as removable application memory
The X20CP1484-1 is the smallest Celeron based CPU for the X20 System. However, its shortest cycle time of 800 µs still shows its power. The basic features are the same as those of the larger types. This CPU module has Ethernet and USB onboard, and also provides a POWERLINK connection for real-time communication. The only differences between the X20CP1484-1 and the X20CP3484-1 are that the former has just one slot for interface modules and a smaller width. The CPU models X20CP1484 and X20CP1484-1 differ only by SDRAM size.
This module features an advanced fanless passive cooling design and has no easily damaged mechanical parts. The X20 series' signature three-section modular mechanical structure (completely independent terminal blocks, electronic modules, and base) provides unparalleled convenience for field maintenance—during subsequent equipment maintenance or hardware upgrades, technicians can simply remove the electronic modules from the base for on-site replacement without altering existing wiring, thus significantly reducing unplanned downtime during factory overhauls.
The X20CP1484-1 B&R Smallest Celeron based CPU for the X20 System may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

High-end Packaging and Printing Machinery: Utilizes POWERLINK for real-time control of multiple servo motors, enabling high-speed flying shears, tracking shears, electronic gears (shaftless), and precise tension closed-loop control on packaging lines.
Plastics and Rubber Injection Molding Machines: Handles complex hydraulic servo closed-loop algorithms, multi-channel PID temperature control, and rapid position/pressure (P/Q) switching.
Process Industries and Environmental Water Treatment: Connects to SCADA configuration software via built-in standard Ethernet (Modbus TCP/OPC UA) to control large-scale distributed field pumps, valves, and instruments.
Textile and Machine Tool Core Control: Serves as the central control core of equipment, providing unified management of multiple logic interlocks, fault diagnosis alarms (alarm history records), and confidential production line information.
1. POWERLINK Industrial Real-Time Ethernet: The natively integrated POWERLINK interface is B&R's flagship technology. It provides ultra-low bus jitter and microsecond (μs) deterministic response. This enables the X20CP1484-1 to function as a network management node, synchronously controlling field servo drives (such as the ACOPOS series), frequency converters, and distributed I/O, making it ideal for complex multi-axis synchronous motion control.
2. Seamless X2X Link Backplane Expansion Capability: An X2X Link docking station interface is located on the bottom. Without the need for additional expensive communication cards, the CPU can directly mount the entire X20 series of digital, analog, temperature acquisition, and special function I/O modules. Its high-density modular physical layout significantly reduces the space occupied within the control cabinet.
3. Three-Section Mechanical Structure and Zero Downtime Maintenance: The X20 system employs a unique three-section design, with the terminal block, electronic modules, and docking station completely separated. When electrical damage occurs in the field hardware requiring maintenance, maintenance personnel simply remove the electronic module directly from the base and insert the new spare. This eliminates the need to touch existing field cable connections, completely eliminating the risk of secondary wiring errors and minimizing downtime for overhauls.
4. High-Reliability Fanless Passive Cooling: Due to the extremely low heat generation of the hardware, this module employs a completely fanless design with no moving mechanical parts. This eliminates the potential risk of PLC overheating and burnout due to dust accumulation on fan bearings. It can operate trouble-free year-round in common industrial temperatures (0°C to +55°C) and high-vibration environments.
