The first three-digit option is the cable’s electrical length and the final two-digit option identifies armor. In 21747-075-01, code 075 denotes a 7.5 m cable and option 01 specifies armor. The extension cable joins the probe’s integral coaxial lead to the appropriate 18745 Proximitor and is part of the system calibration. The probe and extension-cable electrical lengths must add to the five- or nine-metre Proximitor length. A 7.5 m cable therefore requires the installed probe length and electronics to be checked before use. Because this is a legacy system, connector condition, armor, electrical length and the complete loop numbers should be verified from labels and photographs.

Record the probe length and 18745 Proximitor option, then add the 7.5 m cable length to confirm a five- or nine-metre electrical system. Do not select by connector appearance alone.
Protect the two coaxial connector interfaces, support the armor and avoid crushing or tight bends. Route the cable in accordance with the site’s mechanical and signal-separation requirements.
The extension cable is part of the calibrated loop. A changed cable length requires the probe lead, Proximitor length and monitor scaling to be reviewed together before commissioning.
