The PR6423/003-030 CON021 is a high-precision eddy current proximity measurement system component commonly used for vibration monitoring and shaft displacement detection in rotating machinery. Its primary function is to measure the non-contact distance between the probe and a conductive target surface, converting the mechanical displacement into a stable electrical signal for condition monitoring and protection systems. It is widely used in turbines, compressors, pumps, and other critical rotating equipment requiring precise dynamic displacement measurement.
In practical industrial applications, the PR6423/003-030 CON021 improves equipment reliability by providing real-time monitoring of shaft position, amplitude, and mechanical stability. The system typically consists of a proximity probe and a signal conditioning converter (CON021) for processing high-frequency sensor signals. It supports integration with monitoring systems and PLC-based protection systems, enabling early fault detection, imbalance diagnosis, and predictive maintenance strategies to reduce unplanned downtime.
The PR6423/003-030 CON021 EPRO 8mm Eddy Current Sensor may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The PR6423/003-030 CON021 operates based on eddy current displacement sensing technology combined with signal conditioning electronics. The probe generates a high-frequency electromagnetic field, which induces eddy currents in the surface material of a conductive target when it approaches. Changes in the gap between the probe and the target alter the impedance of the probe coil. The CON021 signal conditioner detects and converts this impedance change into a proportional voltage or current output. This processed signal represents precise displacement or vibration data, which can be used for monitoring and control.
