The MVI69L-MBS is a ProSoft Modbus Serial Lite communication module for CompactLogix controllers with 1769 I/O bus capability. The module provides one software-selectable RS-232, RS-485 or RS-422 application port and can be configured as either a Modbus Master or Modbus Slave. It supports up to 30 Master commands, 240 words of input and output data, Add-On Profile integration and an Add-On Instruction that stores configuration in the CompactLogix project. Confirm the complete catalog number, controller firmware, rack slot, power-supply distance, serial electrical interface, node roles, baud rate, addressing and retained ACD project before replacement.
Before removal, save the approved ACD project and ProSoft configuration, then record the module slot, serial interface, wiring, baud rate, parity, addresses, command list and mapped data. After installation, verify module and backplane status, Modbus communication, diagnostics and every affected control function.

Configure the application port for RS-232, RS-485 or RS-422 and select the required Modbus Master or Slave role. Match baud rate, data bits, parity, stop bits, node addresses, command list, register mapping and any termination requirements to the approved network design.
Use a compatible CompactLogix processor with 1769 I/O bus capability, available 5 VDC backplane current and an approved slot within the power-supply distance rating. Preserve the Add-On Profile, Add-On Instruction, controller tags and module configuration in the verified ACD project.
After installation, confirm OK, BP, CFG and P1 indications, verify the serial electrical interface and connector seating, then test every Master command or Slave response, error counter, data map and affected control function under the approved commissioning procedure.
