Preserve the sixteen input and sixteen output addresses used by the Micro/WIN project. Record the terminal assignment, input commons and all four output supply groups before the original module is removed.
Each sourcing output is rated 0.75 A, with a 3 A limit per group. There is no internal short-circuit protection, so branch protection, inductive-load suppression and inrush current require external engineering.
The EM 223 connects only to the documented S7-22X CPU family. Confirm available 5 V backplane current, physical expansion position, neighboring modules and the complete saved configuration before installation.
