Woodward 9905-760 is the LINKnet termination network for the LINKnet I/O option used with Woodward 723 Digital Controls.
For replacement, match 9905-760, the hardware revision, connectors, installed position and receiving-system configuration.
Woodward 9905-760 is identified in Product Manual 02826 as the termination network for the LINKnet I/O option on 723 Digital Controls. It is a network-end component: the manual requires it at the last LINKnet I/O module on a trunk. It does not perform the sensing, control logic or output work of the I/O modules themselves.
The 723 LINKnet channel can serve independent trunks of up to 60 modules. Each node's address must match its configured application address in the 1–60 range. Confirm the exact part marking, 723 LINKnet option, trunk layout, last-node position, address plan and wiring drawing before replacement.
Manual 02826 requires one 9905-760 termination network at the last LINKnet I/O module on the network. The part is not a substitute for the controller's LINKnet interface or for the LINKnet nodes. Preserve the documented bus end point when changing a module or rerouting the trunk.
A 723 LINKnet channel may provide independent trunks with up to 60 I/O modules. Woodward describes node addresses 1–60 and requires each module's rotary-switch address to match the application-program definition. The count and address range describe the network, not a separate rating of the termination part.
Use the documented shielded twisted-pair LINKnet cable; Manual 02826 specifies listed Level V type. The network wiring has no polarity, but follow the terminal diagram for the installed module and control. Do not treat the absence of polarity as permission to ignore terminal assignment or grounding.
For EMC performance, the manual says to land the cable shield at each I/O module and limit exposed shield wire to 25 mm (1 in). At the 723, strip the outer insulation and land the bare shield to chassis as shown in the installation instructions. Verify isolation and safe-work requirements before service.
Confirm the 723 Digital Control's LINKnet option, configured trunk, application address list, installed I/O node sequence and last-node position. Each node address must match the configured address; the documented range is 1–60 per trunk.
Manual 02826 describes LINKnet for non-time-critical control functions such as sequencing and monitoring. Check the current controller project, wiring revisions and system-specific safety review; do not infer compatibility with other Woodward control families from the 9905-760 number alone.
Install the 9905-760 termination network at the last LINKnet I/O module on the network. Do not place it at an intermediate node or substitute it for the 723 LINKnet controller interface. Confirm the correct end point from the network drawing before removing an installed unit.
A 723 LINKnet channel supports up to 60 modules per independent trunk. Treat this as the network's node limit; it is not a channel count or load rating for the 9905-760.
Use the shielded twisted-pair cable specified for LINKnet; Woodward Manual 02826 specifies listed Level V type. The network conductors have no polarity, but follow terminal labels and the project wiring diagram.
For EMC, land the cable shield at each I/O module and keep exposed shield wire to 25 mm (1 in) or less. At the 723, strip outer insulation and land the bare shield to chassis as instructed by the manual. Isolate and inspect the system using the approved site procedure.
Availability for 9905-760 is confirmed at quotation. The complete model, condition and included hardware are checked before shipment.
Any alternative is proposed only after the receiving system, interfaces, configuration and commissioning requirements have been reviewed.
