The ABB SPBRC300 is a high-performance bus-bridged controller designed for industrial automation environments, belonging to the ABB Symphony Plus control system's HR series rack-mount hardware. As the control system's central processing unit (CPU), it is fully compatible with the classic INFI 90 OPEN system in terms of functionality, communication, and packaging. Its main functions include high-speed acquisition of process I/O status, execution of complex industrial control algorithms, and precise output of control commands to field actuators. It is the core computing engine ensuring the continuity of process industry production.
The controller is equipped with a 32-bit ColdFire microprocessor operating at 160 MHz, with all memory channels designed with 32-bit data paths, providing excellent instruction execution efficiency. According to ABB's official technical specifications, the SPBRC300 integrates 8MB of dynamic random access memory (DRAM, 7.56MB available space), 512KB of non-volatile memory (NVRAM, 415KB available space), and 2MB of flash ROM. Furthermore, it is equipped with a lithium-ion coin cell battery to retain data during power outages, and its typical logic-side power consumption is extremely low (only 10W at 5VDC).
In terms of communication and security, the SPBRC300 boasts powerful network data throughput, supports importing and exporting process data across system nodes, and can receive management commands from operator stations or control computers in real time. This controller not only supports a 1:1 dual-machine smooth redundancy configuration (two controllers interlock and synchronize in real time via a dedicated 4 Mbytes/s link), but also possesses extremely powerful low-level I/O scheduling capabilities: it can directly connect to and manage SD series DIN rail I/O via the built-in HN800 bus, or support S800 remote I/O via the IOR 800 subsystem, and has flexible online configuration capabilities.
