These accelerometers are suitable for critical mechanical applications requiring the measurement of housing acceleration, such as gear meshing monitoring. The Model 330400 accelerometer is designed to meet the American Petroleum Institute (API) 670 standard for accelerometers. It has a peak amplitude range of 50 g and a sensitivity of 100 mV/g. The Model 330425 accelerometer is similar, but has a larger peak amplitude range (75 g) and a sensitivity of 25 mV/g.
The 16710-08 Bently Nevada Interconnect Cable may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

If housing measurements are performed for comprehensive machine protection, the applicability of the measurement results to each application should be considered. Most common machine failures (imbalance, misalignment, etc.) originate from the rotor and cause increased (or at least altered) rotor vibration. For any individual housing measurement to effectively protect the entire machine, it is essential to ensure that rotor vibration is accurately transmitted to the bearing housing or housing, and more specifically, to the sensor's mounting location.
This cable is designed for high-precision acceleration signal transmission in heavy industrial environments:
Accelerometer Interface: It is the primary cable connecting Bently Nevada 330400 and 330425 accelerometers to monitoring systems.
Local Machine Monitoring: The 8-foot length is ideal for "close-coupled" applications, such as when sensors are mounted on small or medium-sized machines (e.g., centrifugal pumps or small motors), with the junction box directly mounted on or very close to the machine base.
Housing Vibration Measurement: Used to monitor high-frequency housing acceleration (G-value), which is crucial for identifying gear meshing problems, blade pass frequencies, and rolling bearing defects.
Machinery Protection: The integrated stainless steel armor provides superior resistance to pressure, abrasion, and accidental trampling, making it suitable for environments such as factory floors or drilling platforms.
