Features:
- Explosion-proof certification (ATEX): II 3G Ex ec IIC Gc (suitable for hazardous and seismic environments)
- Compliant with ISA-S71.04–1985 Class G3 standards
- Core Distributed Control System (DCS) modules commonly used in industrial automation and process control systems
The KJ2005X1-SQ1 is an advanced SQ controller module developed by Emerson (formerly Westinghouse/Rosemount) for its DeltaV series distributed control systems (DCS). This control unit is designed for medium to large-scale process automation, primarily responsible for centralized data communication and advanced control logic operations, and is suitable for all field I/O nodes, smart instruments, and low-level field devices.
In terms of network integration architecture and hardware resilience, this module offers superior distributed scalability and security. It not only fully supports Delta V's advanced control network communication but also easily achieves heterogeneous data interconnection with various advanced intelligent field devices and PLC systems through a local bus and seamlessly compatible multi-communication protocols, providing control engineers with excellent underlying network flexibility.
The KJ2005X1-SQ1 12P6383X022 Emerson DeltaV SQ Controller Module may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

1.Intelligent Motor Protection: DeltaV connects to field intelligent motor protection relays and electronic overload relays (such as Allen-Bradley E300 or Siemens SIMOCODE) via RS485 Modbus bus to read operating current, thermal capacity, and trip flags.
2.VFD Optimization: Speed setpoints and torque requirements can be directly transmitted to high-power VFD units without wiring, while continuously reading speed feedback, bus voltage, and radiator temperature.
3.Power Quality Monitoring: Data is acquired from plant main switchgear, digital energy meters, and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units via Modbus RTU bus to monitor indicators such as voltage sag, power factor, and emergency battery runtime in real time.
4.Gas and Liquid Analyzer Interface: Continuous safety data from gas chromatographs, continuous emission monitoring systems (CEMS), and toxic gas detectors is transmitted to the DeltaV alarm frame.
5.Weighing and Batch Scale Integration: Connects to precision industrial weighing controllers and loss-in-weight batching devices on chemical or pharmaceutical production lines, extracting accurate net weight measurements and batch status codes to the main controller.
6.Tank Metering and Inventory Systems: Connects directly to automated metering interchange stations and tank farm radar metering systems (e.g., Rosemount TankMaster) via an RS485 multipoint network to synchronize liquid levels, water interfaces, and average temperatures.
7.PLC Skid-Mounted Automated Data Acquisition: Serves as the primary interface for independent processing units (e.g., boiler management skids, water treatment units, or chemical injection units) operating on independent local PLCs, enabling the central control room to issue advanced start/stop commands and monitor safety loops.
8.Air Compressor System Centralization: Monitors the entire plant's air compressor network (e.g., Atlas Copco or Ingersoll Rand controllers) by acquiring exhaust pressure, filter differential pressure, and compressor load curves from the system header, thereby optimizing the overall pneumatic system load.
9.Industrial chiller and chilled water management: Integrate local HVAC chiller and cooling tower controllers into a central DeltaV control panel to monitor refrigeration loop temperature, compressor oil pressure, and variable fan status codes.
A key advantage of this module is its comprehensive international explosion-proof certifications, allowing for direct installation in hazardous industrial environments where explosive gases may be present (typically deployed in Zone 2 or Class I Zone 2 environments):
1.ATEX Certification: Complies with EU explosion-proof standards, particularly the Class II 3G Ex ec IIC Gc explosion-proof specification (certificate: FM19ATEX0173U), classified as Class 3G airtight, non-sparking safety hardware.
2.IECEx Certification: Certified by the International Electrotechnical Commission's explosion-proof electrical products certification system, complying with IECEx FMG 19.0019U standard.
3.North American Hazardous Location Certification: Certified by FM (FM17US0286U / FM17CA0145U), complying with Class I Zone 2 A, B, C, and D hazard groups, as well as North American Class I Zone 2 AEx/Ex ec IIC Gc safety regulations.
4.UKCA Explosion-proof Certification: Certified according to UK explosion-proof standards, certificate number FM21UKEX0017U, fully compliant with UK market safety regulations.
