The module receives data signals from connected field devices and processes them through its internal communication circuitry. The processed signals are formatted according to the system communication protocol and sent to the main controller or control network. Simultaneously, control commands issued by the system are also routed to the corresponding field devices through this module. Through continuous bidirectional data exchange and protocol processing, this module ensures the accuracy and reliability of communication within the automation system.
1. Plug and Play: The DeltaV controller features automatic addressing and positioning, automatically recognizing itself and all I/O interface channels upon power-up without manual DIP switch configuration.
2. Data Protection: All online changes to control parameters are automatically stored and uploaded to the engineering database to ensure record consistency.
3. Redundancy: Supports online backup; in the event of a main controller failure, a redundant controller automatically comes online, ensuring uninterrupted system operation.
4. Scalability: The system initially supports 50 Device Signal Tags (DSTs), expandable to a maximum of 750 DSTs via software licensing.
1. Process Industries: Widely used in industries such as oil and gas, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and power generation for continuous and intermittent process control.
2. Large Equipment: Ideal for large industrial equipment requiring a higher number of I/Os, supporting up to 1500 independent I/O signals.
3. Harsh Environments: Rated for G3 corrosive environments and extreme temperatures (-40°C to 60°C), allowing for field installation close to process equipment, rather than being confined to temperature-controlled rooms.
