Honeywell 10024/H/I is an enhanced FSC communication module. The first suffix H specifies the top RS-422 interface with readback; the second suffix I specifies the bottom galvanically isolated RS-485/RS-422 interface. It combines an internal redundant-Central-Part communication link with an isolated serial link for an FSC user station, another FSC system or a documented DCS connection. Match the complete H/I suffix order, hardware-manual type 26900, the installed Central Part bus, serial mode, baud rate, terminators, cable type and station topology.
10024/H/I must be selected from the complete Honeywell identity and the receiving-system evidence. It combines an internal redundant-Central-Part communication link with an isolated serial link for an FSC user station, another FSC system or a documented DCS connection. Isolate Central Part power, record both nine-pin connectors, interface jumpers and termination, and verify the required system-bus jumper arrangement before fitting.
In 10024/H/I, H is the top RS-422-with-readback interface and I is the bottom isolated RS-485/RS-422 interface. Reversing the suffixes identifies a different hardware combination.
The I interface supports documented FSC-to-FSC, user-station and DCS links, including point-to-point or multidrop arrangements. Confirm master/slave roles before reconnecting.
Use one terminator per pair for RS-422 and two terminators per pair for RS-485, with the documented 1 kΩ bias resistors at the master and the shield earthed near the master.
The H interface is used only for internal communication in redundant Central Part configurations. It has no galvanic isolation and must not be used for an external link; with the specified cable it supports up to 1.5 m at 2 Mbaud and enables the pair to isolate a Central Part whose interface test fails.
The isolated I interface can operate as RS-422 or RS-485 and includes a watchdog that disconnects the line after a communication-processor hang or reset. Honeywell documents isolation above 6 kV and maximum cable lengths of 1.2 km at 100 Kbaud, 1 km at 125 Kbaud, 120 m at 1 Mbaud and 60 m at 2 Mbaud.
Honeywell identifies FSC as its first-generation SIL 3 safety controller and states that the platform is discontinued and replaced by Safety Manager.
This legacy module should be selected by complete type code, revision and receiving-system evidence. Existing-system spare, repair and migration decisions must preserve the approved safety lifecycle and management-of-change process.
Commission the replacement with the model-specific checks listed above before returning the affected function to service.
