Features:
- 24 VDC – 175-Watt Power Module
- High-Density Power Module, 24 VDC
- >1,000 VAC or 1,500 VDC, Input to Output Isolation
Each Tricon chassis is equipped with two Power Modules—either one is fully capable of running the Tricon controller at full load and rated temperature. Each Power Module can be replaced online. The Power Modules, located on the left side of the chassis, convert line power to DC power appropriate for all Tricon modules.
Terminal strips for system grounding, incoming power and hard-wired alarms are located on the lower left corner of the backplane. Incoming power should be rated for a minimum of 240 watts per power supply.
The 8311 Invensys Triconex Power Module may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The Power Module alarm contacts are actuated when:
• A module is missing from the system
• The hardware configuration conflicts with the control program’s logical configuration
• A module fails
• A Main Processor detects a system fault
• Primary power to a Power Module fails
• A Power Module has a “Low Battery” or “Over Temperature” warning
Emergency Shutdown (ESD) System: Powers the loop handling system used to activate fail-safe pipeline isolation valves in upstream petrochemical facilities.
Boiler Management System (BMS): Distributes power to the logic circuitry of fuel supply lines for industrial gas or steam boilers.
Nuclear Safety System: Compliant with stringent IEEE and TÜV certification standards, deployable in nuclear safety-related instrumentation and plant cooling systems.
Fire and Gas (F&G) Protection System: Provides continuous and stable power to highly available, multi-channel discrete output loops controlling alarm and sprinkler systems.
