AFP2441 is a Panasonic FP2 four-channel high-speed counter unit with 24 V DC inputs and NPN comparison outputs. It counts pulse or encoder signals at up to 200 kHz and provides eight interrupt inputs and eight programmable comparison outputs for compatible FP2 and FP2SH systems.
Important Notice: Other accessories, manuals, cables, calibration data, software, etc. are not included with this equipment unless listed in the above stock item description. All prices are shown in USD.
AFP2441 supports direction-control, individual-input and phase-input counter operation. The input mode is selected separately for each counter channel, and phase-input operation supports documented multiplier settings.
Match the selected mode to the installed encoder or pulse source before restoring the machine program. An existing count sequence should not be inferred from terminal appearance alone.
Eight comparison set values can be assigned to counter channels. Each comparison result is produced from the relationship between the counter elapsed value and its configured set value, with output logic selected in shared-memory settings.
Eight interrupt inputs are also available. Preserve the original comparison-to-channel assignment, output logic and interrupt behavior before exchanging the unit.
Use requires an FP2 CPU Ver. 1.09 or later. Install the unit in the documented FP2 or FP2SH rack arrangement and keep the combined current consumption of all modules within the power-supply capacity.
The physical slot affects I/O allocation. Record the original position and all shared-memory parameters before removal, then verify diagnostics after energizing.
AFP2441 provides four counter channels. Panasonic documents direction-control, individual-input and phase-input modes, selected separately for each channel. Phase-input operation supports x1, x2 and x4 multiplication. Confirm the saved channel mode, multiplier and elapsed-value treatment before transferring the application.
The module provides CMP0 through CMP7 comparison outputs. Each output compares a programmed set value with the selected counter elapsed value; the channel assignment and output logic are configured in shared memory. Restore the set values before enabling machine motion and prove each affected output safely.
Obsolete / Discontinued by OEM
AFP2441 provides high-speed pulse counting and programmable comparison-output control for compatible Panasonic FP2 and FP2SH systems.
Panasonic lists AFP2441 (FP2-HSCT) as discontinued on September 30, 2018. Its FP7 migration guidance requires replacement of all affected units rather than a single drop-in exchange.
Moore Automated can source verified surplus AFP2441 units. Exact condition, revision evidence, included accessories and supplied documentation are confirmed in the written quotation.
