This module has a rated transistor current of 160A, and its output current is optimized for different motors: 56A for feed drive (synchronous servo motor), 60A for spindle drive (asynchronous/induction motor), and a maximum peak output current of up to 105A. This module is widely used in CNC machine tools, industrial robots, and various complex precision conveying systems, enabling rapid response speed, torque, or position control for a single axis.
In terms of modular architecture and system integration, this power module primarily serves as a power actuator and a multi-functional hardware carrier. Dedicated slots on its top and front allow insertion of Siemens closed-loop control bus or digital/analog control bus cards with PROFIBUS DP/RS232 communication interfaces, enabling flexible switching between closed-loop vector control and high-precision servo feed modes according to process requirements.

As a standalone power module, this unit does not contain a processing core. For proper operation, a control card (such as a SIMODRIVE 611 high-standard or high-performance closed-loop digital control unit) needs to be inserted into a slot on the front panel. The control card connects directly to a SINUMERIK CNC or SIMATIC controller to perform precise positioning or speed curve control.
