Features:
- SIMOVERT Master drives Operating/parametering unit
- PMU for devices of design A and B Servo Control (SC)
- Operating and Parametering Unit (PMU) of AC and DC drives
The 6SE7090-0XX84-2FA0 is the primary local operating interface for Siemens SIMOVERT MASTERDRIVES series frequency converters, serving as a dedicated parameterization and monitoring tool. Technicians can directly access the converter's internal memory via its integrated keypad to modify configurations, set motor data, and switch between local and remote control modes. Its four-digit LED display provides crucial real-time feedback, showing the current operating status, frequency, and specific fault or alarm codes required for field diagnostics.
In industrial environments, this device is essential for the commissioning and maintenance of Masterdrives frequency converters in Type A to Type D enclosures. Because it mounts directly on the front panel of the frequency converter control board (such as CUVC or CUMC), basic setup tasks can be completed without a laptop or external software. Its robust and compact design withstands the electrical noise of the frequency converter enclosure, making it a reliable point of interaction for field adjustments of torque limits, ramp times, and communication addresses.
The 6SE7090-0XX84-2FA0 Siemens Operating/parametering unit may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The 6SE7090-0XX84-2FA0 operates via a serial communication link with the drive's central processing unit (CPU). When the button is pressed, the unit sends a digital command to the control board via its 10-pin interface. The control board then reads or updates the corresponding hexadecimal encoded value from the driver's EEPROM. The unit converts the complex binary data from the driver into a human-readable 7-segment LED graphic, acting as a bridge between the driver microcontroller and the operator.
Local Parameterization: Allows technicians to directly input or modify drive settings and parameters via the device's four-digit digital display and integrated controls.
Monitoring and Diagnostics: Provides real-time visualization of drive status, including the ability to view current alarms and field diagnostic fault codes.
Drive Commissioning: Used for initial startup parameter assignment of Siemens SIMOVERT drives (especially Type A and Type B).
Field Replacement: Available as a modular spare part for field replacement to restore local control functionality of older drive systems.
