Features:
- DeviceNet Release 2 Group II only-slave communication is provided for the documented 8200-226 SPC control execution.
- The controller operates from an 18–32 VDC supply with a maximum input current of 1.1 A across the specified −40 to +70 °C range.
- Single or dual position feedback and configurable bipolar actuator-driver current support commissioning of a compatible single-coil actuator.
Woodward 8200-226 is an SPC Servo Position Controller that positions a single-coil hydraulic or pneumatic actuator from DeviceNet and/or a 4–20 mA demand. It supplies configurable actuator-drive current, accepts one or two feedback devices and provides an RS-232 Service Tool interface for configuration and first-time actuator calibration. The installed supply, demand wiring, actuator coil and feedback arrangement must match Manual 26236 before replacement.

Demand and network interfaces
The 8200-226 demand path must be configured to match the installed control architecture.
- DeviceNet is documented as a Release 2 Group II only-slave interface.
- A 4–20 mA demand can provide the analog command or backup path.
- RS-232 provides the local Service Tool connection for setup and diagnostics.
Actuator and feedback setup
The actuator loop must be matched to the electrical limits documented for 8200-226.
- Use a single-coil hydraulic or pneumatic actuator with the correct bipolar current setting.
- Select one or two compatible position-feedback devices and verify their terminal assignments.
- Supply and transducer-power wiring must remain within the manual limits before calibration.
Commissioning sequence
Return the SPC loop to service only after the hardware and saved configuration have been checked.
- Verify the complete 8200-226 identity, enclosure installation, terminal wiring and grounding.
- Set the DeviceNet and optional 4–20 mA demand paths to match the original control strategy.
- Complete first-time actuator calibration with the Woodward Service Tool and confirm stable feedback.
