Features:
- High-reliability internal spare module
- Designed specifically for the ProTech TPS (Total Protection System) Emergency Shutdown Device equipped with Math Enhancements
- Spare module for ProTech models 8237-2603 and-2607
This model integrates advanced intelligent diagnostics and protection technologies, conforming to NAMUR NE107 standards. It automatically detects sensor faults and monitors temperature drift, while providing electrical isolation up to 2.5 kVAC, effectively isolating electromagnetic interference in industrial environments and ensuring absolute signal transmission safety.
Regarding system safety and communication integration, the 5437-2131 offers industry-leading redundancy and high reliability. This transmitter has undergone rigorous comprehensive functional safety assessments, fully complies with IEC 61508 standards, and achieves SIL 2/SIL 3 safety levels in a single-loop configuration.
The 5437-2131 Woodward DCS Control Module may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The 5437-2131 transmitter is based on high-precision signal conditioning and bidirectional protocol superposition technology and is controlled by a microprocessor. When a sensor (such as a Pt100 or K-type thermocouple) detects temperature changes in an industrial environment, the transmitter's front-end input circuitry captures these minute resistance or millivolt-level voltage changes and digitizes them using a built-in high-resolution analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The internal microprocessor then performs high-precision linearization based on preset sensor parameters and calibration curves, converting it into a standard 4-20 mA analog current signal output.
Basic Chassis Calibration: This module can be directly used as a hot-swappable replacement module for the Woodward 8237-2603 and 8237-2607 wide chassis assemblies in the Woodward product catalog.
Hot-Swap Maintenance: Because the main ProTech TPS panel handles 2oo3 polling through three independent modules, the faulty 5437-2131 core module can be physically removed and hot-swapped while the protected turbine remains fully online.
Firmware Flash Requirements: The new spare module does not automatically obtain logic settings from other active modules. Field technicians must connect a PC running the Woodward Toolkit software to the front service port to explicitly load and verify the site-specific trip matrix and speed limits.
