The 1756-A17 standard chassis incorporates a timestamping function for SOE applications. The chassis backplate distributes power to each module within the chassis by providing high-speed communication paths between modules. It requires the use of Bulletin 1492 compliant IFM or RTB wiring to connect all field-side wiring. The 1756-A17 standard chassis features RIUP functionality for easy maintenance. It also offers electronic keying to prevent incorrect replacements. Its comprehensive diagnostic capabilities help identify any system or field-side faults. The chassis is compact, cost-effective, and easily compatible with devices such as PanelView operators.
Large-scale automation systems: Specifically designed for manufacturing and process industries that require the integration of numerous I/O, communication, and multiple processor modules within a single rack.
Distributed control systems (DCS): Serving as the central hub of complex control architectures where high scalability and flexibility are crucial.
Complex machine control: Ideal for monitoring and controlling machines requiring various specialized modules, such as motion control or high-speed digital I/O.
PLC-5 migration: Commonly used in modernization projects, converting older PLC-5 systems to ControlLogix using specialized installation components.
