Overview Manuals Principle Applications

Features:

  • ControlLogix 17 Slots Chassis
  • It has 5 mounting tabs on the top and 5 additional mounting tabs on the bottom
  • The 1756-A17 ControlLogix chassis can be used with or without SEM screws
The 1756-A17 provides the module enclosure, including the necessary backplane connections, allowing internal module connectivity, and distributes bus power to the chassis via embedded electronics and provided mounting slots. Its power consumption is: 1.5A at 1.2VDC; 4A/4A at 3.3VDC; 15A/6A; and 2.8A/2.8A at 24VDC.

The 1756-A17 supports horizontal mounting only, requiring a minimum rack size or available space of 76.2 x 91.4 x 20.3 cm (30 x 36 x 8 inches). Ten mounting clips allow for direct panel mounting to the chassis front panel for quick and easy installation. This chassis weighs 2.20 kg (4.8 lb).

The 1756-A17 Allen Bradley ControlLogix 17 Slots Chassis may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The 1756-A17 standard chassis incorporates a timestamping function for SOE applications. The chassis backplate distributes power to each module within the chassis by providing high-speed communication paths between modules. It requires the use of Bulletin 1492 compliant IFM or RTB wiring to connect all field-side wiring. The 1756-A17 standard chassis features RIUP functionality for easy maintenance. It also offers electronic keying to prevent incorrect replacements. Its comprehensive diagnostic capabilities help identify any system or field-side faults. The chassis is compact, cost-effective, and easily compatible with devices such as PanelView operators.
Large-scale automation systems: Specifically designed for manufacturing and process industries that require the integration of numerous I/O, communication, and multiple processor modules within a single rack.
Distributed control systems (DCS): Serving as the central hub of complex control architectures where high scalability and flexibility are crucial.
Complex machine control: Ideal for monitoring and controlling machines requiring various specialized modules, such as motion control or high-speed digital I/O.
PLC-5 migration: Commonly used in modernization projects, converting older PLC-5 systems to ControlLogix using specialized installation components.
