Features:
- Provides precise eddy-current measurement of shaft position and dynamic vibration without physical contact with the target.
- Uses a PPS probe tip, stainless-steel probe case, armored cable option, and CableLoc technology for demanding machinery environments.
- Works within the 3300 XL 8 mm system with interchangeable probes, extension cables, and Proximitor Sensors.
The Bently Nevada 330104-01-08-50-01-05 is a 3300 XL series 8 mm metric eddy current probe featuring M10 × 1 threading and an armored design; it is a component of the 3300 XL eddy current transducer system. This complete system comprises an eddy current probe, an extension cable, and a Proximitor sensor, outputting a voltage signal proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the conductive target. This enables the measurement of static shaft displacement and dynamic vibration, with primary applications including vibration and displacement monitoring for fluid-film bearing machinery, as well as Keyphasor reference signal generation and rotational speed measurement.
Regarding this specific configuration: -01 indicates an unthreaded length of 10 mm; -08 indicates a total probe case length of 80 mm; -50 indicates a total probe length of 5.0 m; -01 indicates a miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector with a connector protector and standard cable; and -05 indicates compliance with CSA, ATEX, and IECEx certification standards. Bently Nevada specifies a linear range of 2 mm (80 mils) for the 3300 XL 8 mm system and recommends a radial vibration installation gap of approximately 1.27 mm (50 mils); this 5 m probe configuration is designed specifically for use with the corresponding 5 m Proximitor sensor.
The 330104-01-08-50-01-05 Bently Nevada 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probes may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

During installation, the probe gap, target geometry, shaft diameter, transducer separation, and cable routing should follow the manufacturer's specifications. Bently Nevada specifies a minimum target diameter of 15.2 mm (0.6 in) for a flat target, a minimum shaft diameter of 50.8 mm (2 in), and a minimum cable bend radius of 25.4 mm (1.0 in); maintaining appropriate separation between transducer tips is also important for limiting cross-talk.
The 330104-01-08-50-01-05 should be considered as part of the complete 3300 XL measurement chain rather than as an isolated sensor. Bently Nevada states that 3300 XL 8 mm components are electrically and physically interchangeable with compatible non-XL 3300 5 mm and 8 mm components, although mixing XL and non-XL components limits performance to the specifications of the non-XL system.
The model belongs to the 330104 metric probe family, which Bently Nevada defines as an 8 mm proximity probe with M10 × 1 thread and armor. Its 5.0 m probe length must be paired with the corresponding 5 m Proximitor Sensor, while the -01 connector option incorporates the miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector and connector protector; the -05 option provides CSA, ATEX, and IECEx approvals.
