Information

Overview Manuals Principle Application Details

Features:

  • 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probes
  • 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Transducer System
  • 330104 3300 XL 8 mm Probe, M10 x 1 thread,with armor
The system provides an output voltage that is directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface and can measure both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) values. The system’s primary applications are vibration and position measurements on fluid-film bearing machines, as well as Keyphasor reference and speed measurements.

Each 3300 XL 8 mm Transducer System component is backward compatible and interchangeable4 with other nonXL 3300 series 5 mm and 8 mm transducer system components. This compatibility includes the 3300 5 mm probe, for applications in which an 8 mm probe is too large for the available mounting space.

The 330104-01-04-15-02-05 Bently Nevada 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probes may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The 3300 XL 8 mm system delivers the most advanced performance in our eddy current proximity transducer systems. The standard 3300 XL 8 mm 5-meter system also fully complies with the American Petroleum Institute’s (API) 670 Standard for mechanical configuration, linear range, accuracy, and temperature stability. All 3300 XL 8 mm proximity transducer systems provide this level of performance and support complete interchangeability of probes, extension cables, and Proximitor sensors, eliminating the need to match or bench calibrate individual components.
  1. Metric Mounting: This model (330104) is designed for mountings requiring M10 x 1 threads, commonly found in non-US machinery or international turbine designs.
  2. Harsh Environments: The 330104's basic "armored" design provides flexible stainless steel conduits on the conductor cables to protect against physical damage and chemical corrosion.
  3. Standard Monitoring: Commonly used for monitoring radial vibration, thrust (axial) position, and critical phasor timing in equipment such as centrifugal compressors and steam turbines.

Ask our team:

  • Why is the 330104-01-04-15-02-05 manufactured as a system matching component, rather than as a general-purpose coaxial cable?
The 330104-01-04-15-02-05 has tightly controlled impedance, capacitance, and shielding characteristics. These parameters are crucial for maintaining the calibration scaling factor of the eddy current measurement chain and preventing signal distortion or drift.
  • How does the 330104-01-04-15-02-05 enhance electromagnetic interference immunity?
The 330104-01-04-15-02-05 employs an advanced shielding architecture and robust connector design, effectively reducing the effects of electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI), ensuring stable signal transmission even in high-power industrial environments.
  • How does the 330104-01-04-15-02-05 affect the measurement accuracy of the entire sensor system?
The 330104-01-04-15-02-05 maintains the signal amplitude and phase integrity between the probe and the proximity sensor, ensuring linear and consistent displacement measurements within the specified operating range.
  • Why are the specific length and configuration of the 330104-01-04-15-02-05 critical for system calibration?
The length of the 330104-01-04-15-02-05 is an inherent calibration parameter. Deviating from the specified configuration may alter system sensitivity and affect measurement accuracy.
  • How does the 330104-01-04-15-02-05 improve the reliability of mechanical protection systems?
The 330104-01-04-15-02-05 ensures reliable transmission of displacement signals used for alarm and shutdown logic, supporting operational safety and asset protection.
