Information

Overview Manuals Principle Primary Applications

Features:

  • Watchdog Repeater (WDR) Module
  • Monitors the 5 Vdc and 24 Vdc supplied to the I/O modules
  • Watchdog repeater is required if the required watchdog current exceeds 900 mA
The watchdog repeater is used to monitor the 5V and 24V DC power supply for I/O modules. The watchdog output of the watchdog repeater connects to the watchdog input of the monitored power supply (5V and/or 24V DC) output module. The watchdog repeater requires a horizontal bus connection. This means that space must be reserved in the I/O rack (positions 1, 2, 11-18).

The watchdog repeater must always be placed in the I/O section containing the output module it monitors. This means that in configurations with multiple (redundant) I/O sections, the watchdog repeater must not be installed in a way that allows it to control “other” I/O sections.

The 10302/2/1 Honeywell Watchdog Repeater (WDR) Module may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The watchdog repeater can be replaced while powered on, but the central unit will be turned off; if used in a configuration with redundant central units and non-redundant I/O, both central units will be turned off.
Safety-Critical Monitoring: As a safety mechanism, it monitors system failures and restarts the system upon detection.
Multi-Power Supply Unit Configuration: In setups with multiple power supply units (e.g., power supply units 2, 3, or 4), this configuration is required for each subsequent 24Vdc to 5Vdc unit.
Redundant I/O System: Crucial in configurations using a mix of redundant and non-redundant I/O to create watchdog outputs for non-redundant modules.
Voltage Failure Protection: This protection is required when the 24Vdc supply voltage may exceed 31.0Vdc or the watchdog current exceeds 900mA.
