The Modicon Quantum product line is now mature. Schneider Electric officially ceased production of the 140CPS21400 on December 31, 2022, and plans to discontinue service on December 31, 2030. For modernization upgrades or new system designs, Schneider Electric recommends using the BMXCPS3020 on the Modicon X80 platform as a direct functional replacement.
The Schneider Electric 140CPS21400 power supply requires no software programming or configuration in EcoStruxure Control Expert (Unity Pro) or Concept. It is a fully hardwired, plug-and-play module that automatically powers the backplane bus upon power-up. However, depending on its installation in the Modicon Quantum rack, appropriate hardware configuration may be required.
 
1.Slot Limitation: The 140CPS21400 can only be installed in the leftmost slot position on the Quantum backplane.
2.Module Limitation: A maximum of two stackable 140CPS21400 power supplies can be installed on a single Quantum backplane.
3.Do Not Mix: Never mix stackable 140CPS21400 power supplies with standard (non-stackable) power modules in the same rack, as this may damage the hardware.
