The Schneider Electric 140XBP01000 rack backplane, part of the Modicon Quantum series, is a key component in automation systems. This backplane accommodates up to 10 slots, supporting various module configurations. It is compatible with local, distributed, and remote I/O modules, providing flexibility for a wide range of applications.
The backplane operates in a temperature range of 0°C to 60°C, ensuring proper functioning under typical operating conditions. Its storage temperature range is -40°C to 85°C, allowing for safe placement in various environments. The backplane is screw-mounted, ensuring a secure and stable installation on the mounting plate. Weighing only 1 kg, this backplane provides reliable support for your I/O modules.
The 140XBP01000 Schneider Electric Rack Backplane may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

1.Passive Frame: The backplane is completely passive, containing no active processing logic. It handles signal routing and current transfer without requiring software configuration.
2.Module Support: Safely aligns with and accommodates Quantum CPUs, standalone or stacked power supplies (e.g., 140CPS21400), network modules, and various discrete/analog I/O cards.
3.Grounding and Shielding: Equipped with an integrated high-power ground terminal. This design effectively shields against external electromagnetic interference (EMI) on high-speed logic lines.
Like the entire Quantum architecture, this backplane is discontinued. Schneider Electric officially ceased production of the 140XBP01000 on December 31, 2022, and standard customer support will end on December 31, 2030. Direct migration option: For new panel layouts or active control room modernization, Schneider Electric recommends migrating to the Modicon X80 platform's BMEXBP0800 (an 8-slot Ethernet backplane) or related X80 infrastructure.
