Difference Between XS4P18AB110 and XS4P18AB120
Features:
- Inductive sensor XS4 M18 L41mm PBT Sn8mm 12..24VDC cable 2m
- Pre-cabled 2-meter PVC cable (3 x 0.34 mm²)
- M18 x 1 Threaded Barrel (Cylindrical)
Telemecanique Sensors, a Schneider Electric company, has introduced a universal cylindrical thread inductive proximity sensor. The sensor features a standard M18 cylindrical plastic housing with an IP67 protection rating, effectively preventing water and dust ingress. Therefore, it is ideal for reliable non-contact detection and distance monitoring of metal targets in harsh environments such as industrial automated production lines, material handling, and packaging machinery.
As a high-precision detection device, its core function is to provide non-embedded (surface mount) analog current output. The sensor is rated to operate at 12 to 24V DC and can linearly output an analog current signal of 4 to 20mA within a standard detection distance of 0.8 to 8mm. This allows it to be used not only as a simple object detection switch but also in a wider range of applications.
The XS4P18AB120 Schneider Electric Inductive sensor may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Unlike traditional digital proximity switches (which only have two states, on or off), the XS4P18AB120 sensor generates a continuous current loop of 4 to 20 mA. Its output signal is proportional to the distance a target metallic object moves within its 0.8 to 8 mm operating range. This makes it ideal for thickness measurement, position change monitoring, and material deformation detection.
They are both inductive proximity sensors with a analog output.
(2 wire) AB110 is 4-14 mA output and the AB120 is 4-20mA output.
(3 wire) AB110 is 0-10 mA output and the AB120 is0-16mA output.
Also the AB110 is rated 24-48 volts.
