- Contactor AC 220 V 50/60 HZ AC3 30 kW 400 V 3-pole
- 3-pole power contactor from the SIRIUS 3RT5 series
- Designed for switching motors and high-power inductive loads
The 3RT5044-1AN20 is a high-power AC contactor from the Siemens SIRIUS series, primarily used for controlling frequent starts, stops, and reversals of three-phase asynchronous motors. In the AC-3 application category, it has a rated current of up to 65A and can control motor loads from approximately 30kW to 37kW.
With its superior arc-extinguishing capability and extremely long electrical life, this contactor is commonly used in industrial applications requiring high-reliability load switching, such as heavy machinery, large fans, and compressors. The module's functional advantages lie in its strong expandability and durability.
The 3RT5044-1AN20 Siemens 3-pole power contactor may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The 3RT5044-1AN20 is based on the principle of electromagnetic induction. When 220V AC voltage is applied to the coil, a strong magnetic field is generated, attracting the iron core and causing the main contacts to quickly close against the resistance of the reaction spring, thus connecting the high-current main circuit. When the coil is de-energized, the magnetic field disappears, and the internal spring mechanism immediately opens the contacts, cutting off the current. Its internal arc-extinguishing chamber effectively extinguishes the arc generated at the moment of disconnection, ensuring equipment safety during high-power switching.
- Durability: This product is designed for exceptional mechanical and electrical durability, withstanding up to 10 million switching cycles, ensuring long-term reliable operation in highly cyclical automated environments.
- Modular Integration: As part of the SIRIUS modular system, this product can be easily combined with overload relays to form a complete motor starter; it can also be used with auxiliary switch modules (up to 8 contacts) to achieve advanced signaling and feedback functions.
- Safety Standards: Designed specifically for critical control cabinet applications, this product features protection against electric shock and complies with international standards such as IEC 60947-4-1.
