This module is designed specifically for high-load, high-power industrial motion control systems, with transistors rated for up to 300 A. When dynamically controlling different motors, its feed drive (synchronous servo motor) has a rated output current of 100 A, and its spindle drive (asynchronous induction motor) has a rated output current of 120 A.
As the core power actuator of the drive system, it integrates dedicated slots on both the top and front, allowing seamless insertion of digital or analog closed-loop control bus cards (such as the 6SN1118 series) to directly receive control frames from the upper-level control system. Furthermore, the 6SN1123-1AA00-0JA1 integrates high-standard industrial safety monitoring logic, providing hardware-level overcurrent, overvoltage, undervoltage, and overheat protection.

As this is a standalone power supply module, it does not contain internal processing logic. To make it work, a matching digital closed-loop axis control card (such as a SIMODRIVE 611 high-standard or high-performance module) must be inserted into the slot on the front panel. This configuration connects to the main CNC machine tool or central programmable automation controller via a drive bus architecture.
Large CNC machine tools: Drive spindles or heavy-duty axis drive systems requiring enormous torque to cut thick metals (e.g., large gantry milling heads, heavy-duty lathes, and boring machines).
Automotive stamping production lines: Drive high-tonnage servo presses and heavy-duty metal feeding systems.
Industrial printing and packaging production lines: Drive central master drive spindles to synchronize multiple printing stations.
Heavy-duty robots and gantry cranes: Control high-inertia lifting or moving axes in factory automation.
Feed/servo motors (synchronous): Rated current up to 100 A (continuous). Typically used with Siemens 1FT6 or 1FK7 series servo motors for high-precision positioning of heavy-duty machine tool axes.
Spindle motors (asynchronous): Rated current up to 120 A (continuous). Typically used with Siemens 1PH series spindle motors to maintain stable speed loop performance under heavy cutting loads.
Shared DC Bus: This module is mounted side-by-side with other SIMODRIVE modules on a shared 600V DC bus and is powered by a single centralized SIMODRIVE feed/regenerative feedback power supply unit (UE or I/R module).
Control Board Requirements: This module requires a closed-loop digital control card (e.g., a high-standard or high-performance control card from the 6SN1118 series) to be inserted into its front panel slot. This control card connects to a main controller (e.g., a SINUMERIK 840D CNC or SIMATIC S7-400 PLC) to execute motion commands.
