Features:
- The module board features a standard serial communication interface, typically configurable as an RS-232c or RS-422 serial interface
- It is powered by a dual/redundant 24V DC module power supply (provided by power modules such as 89MS01/89MS02 within the rack)
- It requires two standard slots (2 Divisions) in a standard P14 control rack (Subrack)
ABB's GJR2368900R1551 87TS01K-E (often mistakenly written as 89TS01K-E) is a high-performance bus coupling module designed for large power plants and process control systems. As a backbone communication component of ABB's classic Procontrol P14/Advant OCS distributed control system (DCS), this module primarily serves as an inter-system data crossover interface. It is equipped with a highly reliable industrial-grade serial interface (supporting RS232 or RS422 physical specifications) and is designed to seamlessly connect external computers, control diagnostic stations (CDS hosts), or operator stations (POS) to the station-level bus of the DCS system, thereby achieving high-capacity, stable cross-system information interconnection throughout the plant network.
This communication module employs deep redundancy and anti-interference optimization design at both the hardware and system levels, ensuring long-term stable operation even in complex power generation workshop environments with strong electromagnetic radiation and continuous high loads. It uses a standard pluggable rack structure and supports a redundant power network structure composed of dual 24V DC power supplies, guaranteeing uninterrupted communication even if a single power branch fails.
The GJR2368900R1551 89TS01K-E ABB Coupling Module may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Power Supply: Centrally powered by the Procontrol P13 rack backplane, with input typically being the system's standard 5V DC logic voltage or an auxiliary 24V DC voltage.
Power Consumption: Industrial-grade microwatt-level low-power communication board design.
Physical Structure: Standard card-type circuit board (PCB) with integrated handles, allowing direct vertical sliding into the system's standard full-height slot rack.
Rear-end Connectors: Equipped with high-density European pin-type sockets conforming to DIN 41612 standards, ensuring mechanical strength and electrical contact performance of the bus connections.
The GJR2368900R1551 87TS01K-E employs a high-speed bidirectional data path isolation mechanism based on protocol conversion. During normal operation, one end of the module periodically listens for and receives high-speed serial time-division multiplexed data from within the DCS system via the station bus, while the other end connects to the CDS diagnostic computer or a third-party network platform.
The module's built-in microprocessor handles real-time arbitration and data unpacking between these two independent communication networks. It converts control, query, or programming messages from the external host into specific frames conforming to the Procontrol system bus standard and sends them to the target controller (e.g., the CPU of each control station).
Simultaneously, the module utilizes onboard optical isolators and low-voltage protection buffers to process diagnostic logs and process parameters collected from the field, converting them into standard serial data streams and pushing them to the host, thereby achieving highly secure, closed-loop industrial network protocol interoperability.
