Overview Manuals Lifecycle Notice & Modern Retrofits More Features

Features:

  • 10.4-inch Active Matrix TFT Color display with a fixed resolution of 640 x 480 pixels
  • Analog resistive touchscreen interface with integrated touch cells
  • Dual-port layout featuring an embedded Data Highway Plus (DH+) node alongside a dedicated RS-232 printer port
The Allen-Bradley graphical operator terminal (product number 2711-T10C8) belongs to the 2711 PanelView standard operator terminal series. Specifically, it belongs to the PanelView Plus 1000 operator terminal series and features a 10.1-inch color display (640 x 480 pixels resolution), a touch input interface, and 1008 KB of built-in flash memory.

The 2711-T10C8 is unique in that it integrates a Data Highway Plus (DH+) communication port and an RS232 printer interface. The DH+ port is used to exchange data with Allen-Bradley programmable logic controllers (PLCs) such as the PLC5 and SLC500, as well as other third-party devices that support the DH+ protocol. DH+ uses a three-wire cable, enabling long-distance communication and supporting communication with one or more controllers. The RS232 auxiliary port is used to communicate with an alarm printer to print and record alarms and events for historical record keeping and report generation.

The 2711-T10C8 Allen Bradley PanelView 1000 Color Terminal Touch Screen may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

End of Product Lifecycle: The PanelView Standard 1000 series has been discontinued for several years, and no new products are being manufactured.
Modernization Upgrade Solution: Rockwell Automation officially recommends upgrading older PanelView configurations to the PanelView Plus 7 graphical terminal series, which features a modern EtherNet/IP architecture and FactoryTalk View Machine Edition software.
The 2711-T10C8 module operates on 85V and 264V AC power supplies, with a frequency range of 47 to 63 Hz. Typical power consumption for this module does not exceed 55 VA. The 2711-T10C8 weighs 7 to 8 pounds (3.2 to 3.6 kg). Its dimensions are approximately 11.11 x 14.58 x 4.40 inches, and it should be installed at a height below 6561 feet.
The optimal ambient temperature for PanelView 1000 series modules is below 131 degrees Fahrenheit and above 32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing point). Similarly, its optimal storage temperature range is -13 to 158 degrees Fahrenheit.
Please note that the 2711-T10C8 cannot withstand vibrations exceeding 2g at 2000 Hz, and the shock force during operation is limited to 15g, while the shock force during shutdown is limited to 30g.

Technical notes

The Allen-Bradley PanelView 1000 Series 2711-T10C8 is a classic 10.4-inch color touchscreen human-machine interface (HMI). Because it relies on the legacy PanelBuilder32 configuration software (2711-ND3) for screen development and data tag definition, and is no longer in mass production, this product is currently primarily used in industrial applications to maintain existing automation systems and as a core replacement target for upgrading to the PanelView Plus series.
