The 1762-MM1 stores one MicroLogix 1200 user program and its associated data in a removable module. This provides a controlled local copy for backup, transfer or recovery and can reduce dependence on a programming computer when a compatible controller must be restored in the field. Program comparison and data-file download protection can also be used to control how the stored application is applied.
The module includes a write-once/read-many protection option that becomes permanent after it is enabled, so protection settings must be documented before use. It may be inserted or removed with power applied only when no memory transaction is active. After insertion, the controller must be power-cycled or placed in a non-executing mode so the memory module can be recognized correctly.
The 1762-MM1 Allen-Bradley MicroLogix 1200 Memory Module may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
