1746-P4 is an Allen-Bradley SLC 500 chassis power supply that accepts 120 or 240 V AC input and supplies the 5 V DC and 24 V DC rails used by compatible SLC modules.
The 1746-P4 supplies regulated power to the processor and I/O modules installed in a compatible SLC 500 chassis. It accepts either the documented 120 V or 240 V AC input range and delivers up to 10.0 A at 5 V DC and 2.88 A at 24 V DC through the backplane, with a separate 24 V DC, 1 A user-power output available for supported field use.
Because every installed SLC module draws from one or both backplane rails, the supply is selected by a chassis-level power calculation rather than by physical fit alone. The input-voltage selection, branch protection, protective earth, typical line-power demand, maximum inrush current and total 5 V and 24 V loads must be checked before the supply is placed in service.
Calculate the total 5 V and 24 V current required by every installed SLC module before approving the supply.
Confirm the 120 or 240 V branch circuit, terminal arrangement, protective earth, disconnect and overcurrent protection.
Match the complete catalog and series, inspect the chassis connector and verify both backplane rails after installation.
1746-P4 accepts 85 to 132 or 170 to 265 V AC at 47 to 63 Hz and provides up to 10.0 A at 5 V DC plus 2.88 A at 24 V DC to a compatible SLC 500 backplane. A separate 24 V DC, 1 A user output is also provided.
Confirm the 120 or 240 V input selection, 240 VA typical line-power requirement, 45 A maximum inrush current, branch protection, protective earth and the separate 5 V and 24 V chassis load calculations before installation.
1746-P4 is supplied only after the complete model, revision, condition and included hardware are checked against the written quotation.
Confirm the 120 or 240 V input selection, 240 VA typical line-power requirement, 45 A maximum inrush current, branch protection, protective earth and the separate 5 V and 24 V chassis load calculations before installation.
