Features:
- The Bently Nevada 3300 XL 8mm proximity probe assembly
- Features a highly customized special configuration with a flexible armored housing extension
- Used for non-contact, high-precision measurement of shaft vibration and position in critical industrial machinery
This system is primarily used for non-contact, high-precision static and dynamic displacement measurement of industrial rotating machinery. Its core function is to monitor the axial displacement, radial vibration, and critical phase reference signal of the rotating shaft in real time, providing crucial data for mechanical fault diagnosis and condition monitoring.
The sensor is based on the eddy current principle. A preamplifier generates a high-frequency magnetic field, which excites the magnetic field in the probe coil, inducing eddy currents on the metal surface and causing energy loss. The preamplifier converts this loss into a voltage output proportional to the gap distance between the metal surface and the sensor, thus achieving accurate non-contact displacement measurement.
The 129715-138-40-05-05 Bently Nevada 3300 XL 8mm proximity probe may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Thanks to its long and flexible armored housing, this probe assembly is suitable for special spatial structures where standard straight, rigid housings are difficult to screw into:
Hydrodynamic bearing monitoring: Measuring dynamic radial shaft vibration and static axial thrust location within heavy industrial machinery.
Deep machinery interiors: Deployed in deep cavities or specially shaped internal mechanical chambers where standard external mounting sleeves cannot be installed.
Large industrial turbines: Capturing target shaft deflection patterns in steam turbines, gas turbines, and large centrifugal process air compressors.
