Overview Manuals Principle Industrial Applications

Features:

  • 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probes
  • 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Transducer System
  • 330104 3300 XL 8 mm Probe, M10 x 1 thread,with armor
The system provides an output voltage that is directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface and can measure both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) values. The system’s primary applications are vibration and position measurements on fluid-film bearing machines, as well as Keyphasor reference and speed measurements.

Each 3300 XL 8 mm Transducer System component is backward compatible and interchangeable4 with other nonXL 3300 series 5 mm and 8 mm transducer system components. This compatibility includes the 3300 5 mm probe, for applications in which an 8 mm probe is too large for the available mounting space.

The 330104-05-12-10-02-00 Bently Nevada 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probes may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The 3300 XL 8 mm system delivers the most advanced performance in our eddy current proximity transducer systems. The standard 3300 XL 8 mm 5-meter system also fully complies with the American Petroleum Institute’s (API) 670 Standard for mechanical configuration, linear range, accuracy, and temperature stability. All 3300 XL 8 mm proximity transducer systems provide this level of performance and support complete interchangeability of probes, extension cables, and Proximitor sensors, eliminating the need to match or bench calibrate individual components.
1. This probe is primarily used for monitoring hydrodynamic bearing machinery. Key applications include:
2. Radial Vibration: Measures the dynamic movement of the shaft relative to the bearing housing to detect imbalances or misalignments.
3. Axial (Thrust) Position: Monitors the longitudinal movement of the shaft to prevent catastrophic contact between rotating and stationary internal components.
4. Keyphasor® and Speed Measurement: Provides a reference signal per revolution for phase measurement or general speed tracking.
5. Eccentricity: Tracks shaft "bending" or mechanical runout, typically during machine start-up or shutdown.

Ask our team:

  • What is the main architectural role of the 330104-05-12-10-02-00 in industrial vibration monitoring systems?
The 330104-05-12-10-02-00 is a high-precision eddy current sensor designed for non-contact displacement measurement. As the front-end sensing interface of the 3300 XL 8mm series, it converts the mechanical proximity signal of a conductive target into a calibrated electrical signal for monitoring radial vibration or axial position of critical rotating machinery.
  • How does the specific configuration of the 330104-05-12-10-02-00 ensure signal integrity over long transmission paths?
The overall length and impedance characteristics of the 330104-05-12-10-02-00 are optimized for seamless integration with the 3300 XL Proximitor® sensor. Its internal coaxial structure minimizes parasitic capacitance and electromagnetic interference, ensuring high-frequency oscillation stability even in noisy industrial environments.
  • To what extent is 330104-05-12-10-02-00 resistant to corrosive chemical and thermal gradients?
330104-05-12-10-02-00 features a 303 stainless steel housing and is equipped with a polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) probe. This material choice allows 330104-05-12-10-02-00 to maintain structural integrity and measurement accuracy when immersed in synthetic lubricants or exposed to temperatures ranging from -51 °C to +177 °C (-60 °F to +350 °F).
  • Why is the ClickLoc™ connector technology in the 330104-05-12-10-02-00 superior to traditional threaded connectors?
    The 330104-05-12-10-02-00 uses a gold-plated ClickLoc™ connector that provides a
  • How does the 330104-05-12-10-02-00 facilitate predictive maintenance and condition monitoring (CBM)?
By providing real-time submicron resolution data on shaft motion, the 330104-05-12-10-02-00 enables reliability engineers to detect early failures such as imbalance, misalignment, or bearing degradation. The high-fidelity output of 330104-05-12-10-02-00 is the cornerstone of preventing catastrophic machine failures.
