- 3300 5 mm Transducer System
- 330173 3300 5mm Probe, M8 x 1 thread, without armor
When used with the 3300 XL proximity sensor and XL extension cable, this system provides an output voltage proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the conductive surface being measured. The system can measure both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) data.
Its primary applications include vibration and position measurement in hydrodynamic bearing machinery, as well as adhesion phasor and velocity measurement. The system provides accurate and stable signal output over a wide temperature range.
The 330173-00-02-20-02-05 Bently Nevada 3300 5mm Proximity Probes may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The 3300 5 mm probe is an improvement on the previous design. The patented TipLoc molding process achieves a stronger bond between the probe tip and the probe body. The 3300 5 mm system can be equipped with Fluidloc cables to prevent oil and other liquids from leaking from the cable inside into the machine. All 3300 XL proximity sensor systems achieve this performance level, and the probe, extension cable, and proximity sensor are fully interchangeable, requiring no matching or bench calibration of individual components.
Vibration Monitoring: Measures dynamic radial vibration of shafts in hydrodynamic bearing machinery (e.g., pumps, compressors, and fans) to detect early mechanical failures.
Thrust (Axial) Position: Monitors the static axial movement of rotors to prevent catastrophic contact between rotating and stationary components.
Vehicle and Phase Reference: Commonly used with Keyphasor® sensors, providing timing pulses for velocity measurement and diagnostic phase analysis.
Small Target Sensing: Ideal for measuring vibration of shafts as small as 51 mm (2 inches) in diameter.
