Features:
- 3300 NSv Proximity Probes
- 330909 3300 NSv Probe, 3/8-24 UNF thread, with armor
- 3300 XL NSv Proximity Transducer System
The 3300 NSv probe and extension cable are mechanically and electrically compatible and interchangeable with Bently Nevada’s previous 3300 RAM proximity probe and extension cable. The NSv probe has increased chemical resistance compared to the 3300 RAM probe, which allows its use in many process compressor applications. The side-view characteristics of the 3300 NSv probe are also superior to those of the 3000-series 190 probe when gapping the 3300 NSv probe at the same distance from the probe target.
The 3300 NSv probe comes in varying probe case configurations, including armored and unarmored 1/4-28, 3⁄8-24, M8X1 and M10X1 probe threads. The reverse mount 3300 NSv probe comes standard with either 3⁄8-24 or M10X1 threads. All components of the transducer system have gold-plated brass ClickLoc connectors. ClickLoc connectors lock into place and prevent the connection from loosening. The patented TipLoc molding method provides a robust bond between the probe tip and the probe body.
The 330909-00-60-10-01-00 Bently Nevada 3300 NSv Proximity Probes may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

1. Features of the 21000/31000 Series Protective Covers for "Stop-up Maintenance" Applications:
Unlike standard probes with long external threads on the front, the 330909 reverse-mount probe features a nested mounting design on the back.
Industrial Applications: The most typical application is inserting the probe directly into the sleeve of the Bentley Nevada 21000 (aluminum) or 31000 (PPS plastic) series external protective cover assembly. The 60 mm length (option 60) perfectly matches the inner diameter of the protective cover sleeve. If an electrical fault occurs in the probe while the process equipment is running at full speed, maintenance personnel can safely remove the entire sleeve and probe from the bearing housing for replacement and adjustment. This process does not require stopping the machine or disassembling the bearing housing, significantly reducing unplanned downtime losses.
2. Features of Vibration Monitoring Applications for Small High-Speed Process Pumps and Industrial Equipment:
The standard 8 mm probe has a large magnetic field diameter. If the measured shaft diameter is less than 76 mm, edge effects caused by magnetic field overflow can lead to severe reading distortion.
Industrial Applications: The 3300 NSv probe features an extremely small end face and a highly concentrated magnetic field. This 60 mm reverse probe is commonly used in small high-speed gearboxes, high-speed chemical process pumps, small industrial fans, and boosters. Typically, two probes are mounted on the bearing at a 90° orthogonal tangent angle (X/Y axis pair). The 3500 monitoring system reconstructs the "axis trajectory" of small journals in real time to diagnose misalignment, imbalance, and bearing wear.
3. Small Steam Turbine/Expander Axial Thrust Position Application Features:
The probe is perpendicular to the rotor shaft end face or a small thrust ring inside the device.
Industrial Applications: In some small auxiliary steam turbines or liquid nitrogen/liquid oxygen expanders, due to limited internal space, larger standard 8 mm probes cannot be used. This compact reverse probe can be directly reverse-locked using a special mechanical clamp, continuously monitoring the rotor's micron-level axial displacement. If the thrust bearing is severely worn, causing the rotor displacement to exceed the limit, the system can accurately detect and immediately trigger the trip protection with a proportional coefficient of 200 mV/mil (7.87 V/mm), thereby preventing catastrophic accidents caused by friction between the moving blades and the stationary blades.
