Product Information:

The 330909-00-60-10-01-00 is a 3300 NSv series eddy current displacement sensor probe manufactured by Bently Nevada, specifically designed for narrow-gap/small target applications. This system is specifically designed for applications with severely limited installation space (such as those facing countersunk holes or interference from side metal structures) or for small-sized targets with a rotating shaft diameter of less than 51 mm (2 inches).

Utilizing the non-contact eddy current principle, it highly concentrates the emitted electromagnetic field, effectively preventing signal crosstalk caused by surrounding metal. It is commonly deployed on various small to medium-sized rotating shafts for high-precision online safety monitoring of shaft vibration, axial displacement, and rotational speed. From the specific product selection parameters, this particular model incorporates a specially designed physical housing and protective structure.

In actual industrial operation, due to its long 6.0-inch housing and extremely rigid outer stainless steel armor, the probe is ideal for deep embedding through thick insulation layers or housing walls from the outside of the housing, and can perfectly resist physical damage to the delicate internal coaxial cable caused by metal debris scratches or mechanical pulling.

Features:

  • 3300 NSv Proximity Probes
  • 330909 3300 NSv Probe, 3/8-24 UNF thread, with armor
  • 3300 XL NSv Proximity Transducer System
The 3300 NSv probe and extension cable are mechanically and electrically compatible and interchangeable with Bently Nevada’s previous 3300 RAM proximity probe and extension cable. The NSv probe has increased chemical resistance compared to the 3300 RAM probe, which allows its use in many process compressor applications. The side-view characteristics of the 3300 NSv probe are also superior to those of the 3000-series 190 probe when gapping the 3300 NSv probe at the same distance from the probe target.

The 3300 NSv probe comes in varying probe case configurations, including armored and unarmored 1/4-28, 3⁄8-24, M8X1 and M10X1 probe threads. The reverse mount 3300 NSv probe comes standard with either 3⁄8-24 or M10X1 threads. All components of the transducer system have gold-plated brass ClickLoc connectors. ClickLoc connectors lock into place and prevent the connection from loosening. The patented TipLoc molding method provides a robust bond between the probe tip and the probe body.

The 330909-00-60-10-01-00 Bently Nevada 3300 NSv Proximity Probes may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

1. Features of the 21000/31000 Series Protective Covers for "Stop-up Maintenance" Applications:

Unlike standard probes with long external threads on the front, the 330909 reverse-mount probe features a nested mounting design on the back.
Industrial Applications: The most typical application is inserting the probe directly into the sleeve of the Bentley Nevada 21000 (aluminum) or 31000 (PPS plastic) series external protective cover assembly. The 60 mm length (option 60) perfectly matches the inner diameter of the protective cover sleeve. If an electrical fault occurs in the probe while the process equipment is running at full speed, maintenance personnel can safely remove the entire sleeve and probe from the bearing housing for replacement and adjustment. This process does not require stopping the machine or disassembling the bearing housing, significantly reducing unplanned downtime losses.

2. Features of Vibration Monitoring Applications for Small High-Speed Process Pumps and Industrial Equipment:

The standard 8 mm probe has a large magnetic field diameter. If the measured shaft diameter is less than 76 mm, edge effects caused by magnetic field overflow can lead to severe reading distortion.
Industrial Applications: The 3300 NSv probe features an extremely small end face and a highly concentrated magnetic field. This 60 mm reverse probe is commonly used in small high-speed gearboxes, high-speed chemical process pumps, small industrial fans, and boosters. Typically, two probes are mounted on the bearing at a 90° orthogonal tangent angle (X/Y axis pair). The 3500 monitoring system reconstructs the "axis trajectory" of small journals in real time to diagnose misalignment, imbalance, and bearing wear.

3. Small Steam Turbine/Expander Axial Thrust Position Application Features:

The probe is perpendicular to the rotor shaft end face or a small thrust ring inside the device.
Industrial Applications: In some small auxiliary steam turbines or liquid nitrogen/liquid oxygen expanders, due to limited internal space, larger standard 8 mm probes cannot be used. This compact reverse probe can be directly reverse-locked using a special mechanical clamp, continuously monitoring the rotor's micron-level axial displacement. If the thrust bearing is severely worn, causing the rotor displacement to exceed the limit, the system can accurately detect and immediately trigger the trip protection with a proportional coefficient of 200 mV/mil (7.87 V/mm), thereby preventing catastrophic accidents caused by friction between the moving blades and the stationary blades.

Technical notes

The Bentley Nevada 330909-00-60-10-01-00 is a 3300 XL NSv narrow-bezel side-view non-contact eddy current displacement sensor probe designed for monitoring vibrations in small-diameter mechanical shafts or confined installation spaces. Featuring a fully threaded stainless steel housing (3/8-24 UNF), a 1-meter cable, ClickLoc connector, and armor protection, it requires no explosion-proof certification, making it particularly suitable for highly chemically corrosive environments.
