The IC200ERM001 is a VersaMax Isolated Expansion Receiver Module used in GE Fanuc Emerson VersaMax PLC and NIU I/O station systems. It functions as the interface between an expansion rack and the main PLC or NIU system, enabling distributed I/O architecture across multiple racks. The module must be installed in the leftmost slot of each expansion rack and works in conjunction with an Expansion Transmitter Module (IC200ETM001) located in the main rack.
The IC200ERM001 supports a flexible multi-rack expansion topology, allowing up to seven expansion racks in a single system. Each expansion rack can host up to eight VersaMax I/O or special-purpose modules, and each rack is assigned a unique rack ID (1 to 7) using a rotary switch. In single-rack configurations, the rack ID is set to 1. A VersaMax power supply is mounted on the receiver module to provide power to all modules in the expansion rack.
The module supports high-speed differential communication with selectable data rates of 1 Mbit/s (for cable lengths under 250 meters) or 250 Kbit/s (default mode). Depending on configuration, the total expansion cable length can reach up to 750 meters when using isolated receivers. The IC200ERM001 also provides up to 500 VDC electrical isolation, ensuring strong noise immunity and reliable communication in industrial environments.
