CC-KFPVR5 is the Honeywell 0.5 m violet interface cable specified for connecting a Fiber Optic Extender to the PM I/O link. It serves the local electrical I/O Link connection, not the long-distance optical span and not an Ethernet/IP interface. Honeywell identifies violet cabling with IOL2 and distinguishes the electrical keying of PM I/O cables from Series C versions. Check the exact cable marking and A/B path identification before replacement.
The CC-KFPVR5 is identified in Honeywell's Series C I/O User's Guide as a recommended spare interface cable for a PM I/O Fiber Optic Extender installation. Its nominal length is 0.5 m and its cable color is violet. The cable provides the local I/O Link connection associated with the extender rather than performing protocol conversion or processing field channels. Optical transmission is handled by separate FOE hardware and fiber cabling, so optical distance ratings and module power requirements must not be treated as specifications of this short cable.
Cable selection requires both the correct I/O family and the correct link identification. Honeywell warns that Series C and PM I/O interface cables have different electrical keying and that an incorrect cable can produce faulty or corrupted communications. Within the documented color scheme, violet denotes IOL2, with yellow and green bands identifying the A and B paths. Preserve those distinctions when replacing or tracing cables. Connect the interface cable before powering the FOE module, and apply the manufacturer's electrical-connection restrictions and the site's approved maintenance procedure rather than assuming optical-connector permissions also apply to the copper link.
The manufacturer expressly distinguishes the electrical keying of PM I/O and Series C interface cables. CC-KFPVR5 belongs to the PM I/O cable group, whereas CC-KFSVR5 is listed for Series C. Similar color and length do not make them equivalent. Check the full installed cable number and the connected I/O family before selecting a spare.
Honeywell assigns gray interface cables to IOL1 and violet interface cables to IOL2. A separate band identifies the redundant path: yellow for A-link and green for B-link. Match both the main cable color and the required path marking; the violet color alone does not distinguish A from B or prove the supplied set quantity.
The IOLINK interface cable must be connected before the FOE module is powered. Align the connector, seat it firmly and secure its screws as instructed. The manual restricts removal or replacement of the electrical IOLINK cable under power to a location verified as non-hazardous. Optical ST-connector provisions are separate and must not be transferred to this electrical interface.
Request the complete cable label and both connector views when matching an installed spare. The purchase description should state the PM I/O execution, violet color, nominal length and required A/B identification. Record whether one cable or a matched set is required, and list any separately needed extender or termination hardware. Avoid accepting a substitute solely because its connector fits or a reseller lists a similar numeric reference.
Record cable routing and redundant-path labels before disconnecting an installed interface. Coordinate work with the operating team so that disturbance of a second path does not unintentionally interrupt I/O communication. Use the site's approved isolation and hazardous-area procedure, then check seating, retention and system communication indications after the connection is restored. A green FOE power indication alone does not prove that the I/O Link path is correctly connected.
