CC-PCNT01 51405046-175 is a Honeywell C300 controller that runs the Control Execution Environment for Experion PKS process-control strategies. It communicates through Fault Tolerant Ethernet and two I/O links, with standard 50 ms CEE operation and support for an engineered redundant-controller arrangement. The controller's IOTA, firmware, application database and migration requirements must be matched to the installed system.
The Honeywell CC-PCNT01 51405046-175 is the legacy C300 controller at the center of a configured Experion PKS process-control application. Its CEE software environment executes the loaded control strategy while the processor exchanges information with the field I/O and other system nodes. Two I/O links are documented, with 750 Kbaud Series C communication and a 375 Kbaud PMIO option in the standard 50 ms configuration. The controller mounts on its corresponding IOTA, and a redundant installation requires the partner controller, a second IOTA and the proper redundancy connection.
Controller selection must include the execution mode and the installed software release, not just the plastic housing or base model name. Honeywell's optional 20 ms CEE arrangement requires a separately loaded firmware version and licence, and the cited specification restricts its supported I/O and application context. For ordinary legacy maintenance, retain the approved controller database, network identity and I/O-link assignments. For modernization, distinguish Honeywell's documented CC-PCNT02 replacement relationship from the later CC-PCNT05 migration route, and establish the required upgrade procedure before removing the working processor.
The documented standard base period is 50 ms. The optional 20 ms CEE is a separately loaded and licensed configuration, not a speed setting assumed to be present in every spare controller. The July 2019 specification limits 20 ms operation to Series C I/O and states the applicable Honeywell turbine-control context; PMIO at 375 Kbaud is not supported in that mode. Validate the actual Experion release and control strategy before selecting or changing execution mode.
Two I/O links connect the C300 processor to the supported field-I/O architecture. The standard 50 ms configuration lists 750 Kbaud for Series C and 375 Kbaud for PMIO. These link rates are not the FTE Ethernet rate and do not define end-to-end process response time. Preserve each link's configured I/O assignment and check the installed IOTA and network design when replacing the controller.
Honeywell's July 2019 technical information identifies CC-PCNT02 as the replacement for CC-PCNT01 in new installations and field replacement. Its June 2025 System HINTS notice additionally describes off-process migration from CC-PCNT01/02 to CC-PCNT05 and associates on-process migration with the applicable R540 route. Confirm the installed release, approved kit, firmware and procedure; a documented migration path is not permission for an unplanned live exchange.
A redundant C300 configuration uses two IOTAs and the specified redundancy connection, with an odd device index n and the partner at n+1. The July 2019 specification lists a 500 ms control-processing switchover interruption for the 50 ms CEE arrangement, subject to its explicit exceptions; it is not a promise of zero interruption. Verify the matching controller configuration, synchronization status, FTE paths and I/O assignments before an approved switchover or replacement. Preserve the current database and follow the release-specific recovery procedure if the intended partner is not synchronized.
The documented peer-update choices are 100, 200, 500 and 1000 ms, while the C300 time-source entries identify SNTP and PTPv2. The cited configuration table gives an SNTP update period of one minute and a PTP update period of thirty seconds. These are different settings from the 50 ms CEE base execution period and must not be substituted for one another. During restoration of a controller application, verify the configured peer relationships and approved time source alongside the control strategy, rather than assuming that reloading logic alone restores every system behavior.
