Features:
- High-performance CPU Slave Positioning Module
- Positioning Module designed for precise motion control in industrial automation
- Modular architecture with reliable electrical isolation and diagnostic monitoring support
Its primary function is to act as a signal conversion and communication interface between the host control unit and peripheral devices such as I/O modules, sensors, and actuators. By providing reliable data exchange and signal conditioning, the USP2I ensures seamless coordination and monitoring of complex industrial processes.
In practical applications, the USP2I enhances system performance by enabling real-time communication, parameter configuration, and diagnostic monitoring. It is commonly used in motor control systems, distributed automation networks, and process control environments where accurate signal transmission and reliable interfaces are crucial. This module is meticulously designed for high immunity to electrical noise, industrial-grade robustness, and reliable operation in harsh environments.
The USP2I Schneider Electric High-performance CPU Slave Positioning Module may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The USP2I operates based on controlled signal processing and bidirectional data management. Signals from field devices are received through the module's input channels, amplified, filtered, or converted using internal circuitry, and then transmitted to the host controller. Conversely, output commands from the controller are also routed through this module to the corresponding field devices. Through structured signal processing, electrical isolation, and protocol management, USP2I ensures the accuracy, stability, and reliability of communication within automation systems.
1. Function: As a slave CPU, it is specifically designed for positioning two axes using an incremental encoder.
2. Design: Features a compact, modular design for easy installation and maintenance in industrial environments.
3. Status: This component is often listed as discontinued by the manufacturer but is still available through remaining stock and refurbished parts suppliers.
1. Dual-axis incremental positioning: Employs incremental encoder feedback control to achieve precise displacement and speed control of two independent axes.
2. Distributed data preprocessing: As a slave CPU, evaluation and measurement are performed locally. This reduces the load on the central PLC and ensures millisecond-level response time, unaffected by fieldbus latency or PLC cycle time.
3. Zeroing and limit control: Supports positioning and zeroing procedures with and without zero-point signals, and evaluates limit switches to define safe operating ranges.
4. High-speed counting: Can function as an independent up/down counter with frequencies up to 200 kHz, suitable for high-speed tracking tasks.
